This Privacy Policy describes how Techtrendery.com ("we", "us", "the site") handles information about visitors. We have tried to write it the way we write everything else here: specifically, and without hiding the important parts in the middle of a long paragraph.
The short version: we do not sell your data, we do not require an account to read anything, and the only information you actively give us is an email address — and only if you choose to subscribe or contact us.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Newsletter subscriptions. Your email address, and the date you subscribed. Nothing else is required.
- Contact messages. Your name, email address and whatever you write in the message, so we can reply.
- Comments and corrections. If you report an error, we keep the correspondence so we can document the correction.
Information collected automatically
- Log data. Standard web server records: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring page, and the time of the request.
- Analytics. Aggregate measurements of which pages are read, for how long, and on what kind of device. We use this to decide what to write next, not to build a profile of you.
- Cookies and similar technologies. Described in detail in our Cookie Policy.
2. How we use information
We use the information above only to:
- deliver the newsletter you asked for;
- reply to messages you send us;
- understand which articles are useful so we can commission more of that work;
- keep the site secure, available and free of abuse;
- meet legal and accounting obligations.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. We do not use your email address to build advertising audiences, and we do not pass subscriber lists to partners.
3. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process personal data on these bases: consent (newsletter sign-up, non-essential cookies), legitimate interests (site security, aggregate analytics, replying to your enquiry), and legal obligation where the law requires retention. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that already happened. The GDPR overview is a good plain-English primer if you want the background.
4. Advertising and affiliate links
Some pages carry display advertising, and some articles contain affiliate links — meaning we may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no additional cost to you. Advertising partners may set their own cookies and may process data under their own privacy policies, which we do not control.
Commercial relationships never influence editorial judgement. That separation is described in full in our editorial policy, and affiliate relationships are disclosed on any page that contains them as well as in our disclaimer. You can opt out of personalised advertising across many networks through the DAA WebChoices tool.
5. Data sharing
We share personal data only with:
- Service providers who operate on our behalf — hosting, email delivery, and analytics — under contracts that restrict them to that purpose;
- Legal authorities, where we are legally compelled and the request is valid;
- A successor entity, if the publication is ever transferred — in which case this policy travels with the data and we will say so on the site.
6. Retention
Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe, plus a short suppression record so we do not accidentally re-add you. Contact correspondence is kept for up to 24 months. Server logs are rotated within 30 days. Aggregate analytics that cannot identify an individual may be kept indefinitely.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict processing, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent. California residents additionally have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what is collected and the right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" — we do neither, but the right stands.

8. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Access to subscriber data is limited to the people who need it, protected by multi-factor authentication. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise — but if a breach ever affects your data, we will notify affected people and the relevant regulator within the statutory window and publish what happened.
9. Children
Techtrendery.com is written for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, those transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent approved safeguard.
11. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes materially, we update the date at the top of the page and, for significant changes affecting subscribers, we say so in the newsletter. We do not quietly rewrite policies.
